About our school

Sacred Heart School is a ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ parish primary school, located centrally in the township of Yea. We are a small rural school situated in a unique, caring, multi-age setting. In 2023, we celebrated our 100th anniversary of providing quality ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ education within the wider Yea community.

¶¶ÒõÆƽâ education has been offered at Sacred Heart for many generations, with the first school being run by the Sisters of St Joseph over 100 years ago. At Sacred Heart we are inspired by the Holy Spirit and focus on nurturing strong connections between children, teachers, families and the wider community. We embody the spirit of the founder of the Josephite, St Mary MacKillop by living out one of her most famous quotes, “Never see a need without doing something about it.”

We strive to educate the whole human person, supporting children to become known as curious, capable, compassionate and connected human beings. At Sacred Heart we want all children to fully flourish with the skills and dispositions that will serve them beyond their schooling years, to become active, open-minded global citizens.

Open afternoons are held in Term 2. Dates can be found on our website or through our Facebook page – Sacred Heart Primary School Yea.

Personalised school tours with the principal can be arranged by request.

Principal's Message

I look forward to welcoming you to the community of Sacred Heart Primary School Yea.

Our learning community provides the very best in ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ education for the 21st Century. All children are valued and are given opportunities to grow as fully flourishing lifelong learners, in a safe and nurturing environment.

As a school in the Josephite tradition, Sacred Heart is a place where we are inspired by the faith and spirit of Australia’s patron saint, Mary Mackillop.

I look forward to meeting you and the opportunity to foster a strong partnership as part of your child’s education journey.
