Mater Christi College VIC – Change Makers
At Mater Christi College, our Good Samaritan heritage is deeply intertwined with our progressive learning environment. Here, every student is not just prepared for their future but equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in it.
Our College, established in 1963, owes its existence to the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, who journeyed from Ireland to Australia, to provide educational opportunities for disadvantaged women and girls.
The sisters themselves were change makers. They saw a need and acted. They were brave and innovative, working for the greater good. They acknowledged the dignity and humanity of all, standing humbly in solidarity with those who were excluded and vulnerable.
As custodians and educators of those who will be responsible for the world of the future, we foster and encourage those same qualities in our student community so they may become the change makers of tomorrow.
Our forward-thinking academic and co-curricular programs and our commitment to student wellbeing create a learning environment where students can explore their interests and talents, learn about themselves and the world, and strive to make the world a better place — committed to living out the change they wish to see in the world.
